English-speaking psychotherapy for Cyprus

Cyprus, and Limassol in particular, has become one of Europe’s densest concentrations of internationally mobile wealth: finance, shipping, technology and crypto professionals, many of them non-domiciled residents drawn by the tax regime, living and working largely in English. Dr Philippe Jacquet offers specialist English-speaking psychotherapy across Cyprus online, with the same clinical depth as at his Harley Street practice.

A private, highly specialised practice

This is a private, highly specialised practice, not general counselling. The expertise is senior specialist: a Doctorate of Professional Practice, Hazelden training and more than 20 years of EMDR, for complex presentations such as addiction, eating disorders, trauma and executive burnout. Usually no waiting list, free choice of therapist, and strict confidentiality.

Global health cover deserves a globally trained clinician

An international private health insurance plan, the kind of global cover offered by insurers such as Bupa Global, Cigna and AXA, is among the best cover in the world, and it exists to give you access to genuinely specialist care, not a generalist. That care should be trained to the same standard. Dr Jacquet’s education spans three countries: addiction training at the Hazelden Foundation in the United States, a Master’s and a Doctorate of Professional Practice in the United Kingdom, and executive coaching at ESSEC in Paris, one of Europe’s leading business schools. Add more than 20 years of EMDR, and this is exactly the highly specialised care your cover is meant for. If you hold the best cover, use it for support that matches it.

Dr Jacquet works with major private health insurers, including Bupa, Cigna, AXA and Aviva. Ask about your cover when you get in touch, and check whether your policy is an international plan.

The hidden cost of success

High-earning, hard-driving lives carry their own risks: the drinking that follows the deal, the control of food and the body when everything else feels beyond control, the anxiety masked by performance. These are the presentations this practice treats, discreetly and without judgement. Nothing is shared with an employer, firm or third party without your consent, save for the narrow legal and safeguarding limits explained at the outset.

All international work is delivered by secure video. Online therapy by secure video.

Dr Philippe Jacquet is a UKCP registered psychotherapist, a Jungian analyst and an HCPC registered art psychotherapist, with twenty-five years of clinical practice. His Doctorate of Professional Practice at the University of Essex examined male eating disorders from the perspective of analytical psychology. Registration can be checked on either public register.

How the work is delivered from here

All international sessions are by secure video, in English or French. Online therapy is not a reduced version of consulting room work: it is the format that lets weekly work survive living abroad, travelling, or relocating. Sessions run in United Kingdom hours, which suits most regions, and if your time zone makes none of it workable, say so when you enquire rather than assuming it rules you out.

For clinicians and treatment services

Dr Jacquet supervises clinical teams in private residential addiction treatment and in a private psychiatric hospital. For treatment centres, psychiatric units and group practices looking for external clinical supervision, including in places where no supervisor of this seniority is available locally, team supervision is also delivered by video. For individual practitioners, see clinical supervision.

Common questions

Do you see clients in Limassol and across Cyprus?

Yes. Dr Philippe Jacquet works with clients across Cyprus online by secure video, with the same clinical depth as at his Harley Street practice.

Do you work with international private health insurance?

Yes. Many internationally mobile clients are covered by global private health plans. They work by reimbursement rather than direct billing: you pay for the session and Dr Jacquet provides a fully itemised invoice, carrying the registration details insurers ask for, which you submit to your plan. Plans such as Bupa Global, Cigna Global and AXA Global Healthcare generally include outpatient mental health cover for secure video consultations, though cover varies by policy and is worth confirming before starting. Ask about your cover when you get in touch, and check whether your policy is an international plan.

What do you treat?

Addiction, eating disorders, trauma, anxiety and depression, and executive burnout, particularly among finance, shipping and professional expatriates.

Is it confidential?

Strictly. Nothing is disclosed to an employer, firm or third party without your consent, save for the narrow legal and safeguarding limits explained at the outset.
